Most countries in the world are independent, but there are around 45 that are not. The island of Bermuda is one of those affiliated with another powerful nation. A British "territory" in the Atlantic Ocean, it has its own government but the head of that government reports directly to London. Like many island countries, Bermuda relies on tourism for much of its income, but it is also an important banking and insurance center.
