If the is any place that will caught your attention,  it should be the most famous LOUVRE MUSEUM in Paris, it is the portrait of a woman Lisa Gherardini painted by Leonardo da Vinci between 1503 and 1506. The portrait is unfathomable and most discussed of all the paintings. The portrait has been in Paris since 1797 on a permanent display apart from when it was stolen for two years as a result of it being the masterpiece of all masterpieces before being returned in 1913.

In the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museum lies the famous fresco  which took Michelangelo four year to paint the scene for the bible old testament of God creating Adam. The iconic image of their hand touching has been reproduced so many times.

Talking about the Renaissance sculpture, this masterpiece should come to your mind, between 1501 and 1504 Michelangelo created it out of a marble which represents nude body of Biblical hero David measuring  5.17 meters . The sculpture was located before at Florence's main square   but currently at Accademia Gallery   to protect it from damage however the replica has been replaced at the original location.


The Last Supper, Leonardo Da Vinci

Da Vinci's is another kind of work of art that because of its uniqueness. It is not in a museum rather it is in the wall of a convent in Milan with limited access to visitors. Da Vinci was painted around 1494 and 1498 with the speculation that one of the twelve apostles seen with Jesus Christ at the table was Mary Magdalene who was the main character in “The Da Vinci Code" written by Dan Brown.

The expressionist paintings by Edvard Munch background is a landscape in Norway which depicts screaming figure representing the anguish of modern life, out of the four versions painted between 1893 and 1910, two out of it is located in Oslo's National Gallery but the oldest version from 1893 was stolen in 1994 but was later recovered few months.

This sculpture depicts the Aphrodit, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. It  was discovered in a farmers filed in the Greek island of Milos in 1820, it is said to have survived for more than 2100 years  dating way back to between 100 and 130 B.C. with the exception of the original arms. It is one of the most famous ancient Greek sculpture made of marble and slightly larger than life size, it was acquired by France.

These was painted around 1485 and 1487 by Botticelli about the goddess being born and emerging from the sea though nobody knows where it was first displayed but it became one of the most reproduced images of all time and was commissioned by the Medici family in Florence
