It has become a tradition for lovers of music to visit opera houses. Around the world, there are so many operas but we would be talking about the most remarkable of these opera houses. The architectural treasures and the way that people take their seats can be an attraction that you would need. Some of these opera houses were not built to accommodate only leading baritones, sopranos and tenors but also to showcase the beauty of these buildings.  Aside the music, you can still visit to explore the building.

Vienna State Opera

 This place is often called the Staatsoper and it was opened in the year 1869. The first performance was with Mozart’s “Don Giovanni.” It was Eduard van der Nüll and August Sicard von Sicardsburg who had designed Vienna State Opera in the Neo-Renaissance style. It has become one favourite place for people who really appreciate music and sometimes, you can find kids perform here.

The Amazon Theatre or the Teatro Amazonas is where you can one of the most remarkable opera houses. Can you guess what it is located? In the heart of the great Amazon rainforest lies this music house, build during the heyday of rubber trader. The dome of the house was covered with 36,000 decorated ceramic tiles painted in the colors of the Brazilian national flag. The Italian opera La Gioconda was  the person who gave the first performance here.

 You may have seen a lot of opera houses but have you thought of what the Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, or La Scala looks like. Since it opened its door with the performance of “L’Europa Riconosciuta,” by Antonio Salieri, in 1778, this place has become a hot cake for music lovers. It was designed by  architect Giuseppe Piermarini in the Neoclassical style by, the red-and-gold theater is famous for its superb acoustics, which reveal the true abilities of a singer so accurately that a performance at La Scale is viewed as a trial by fire.

The Palais Garnier is located on the Avenue de l’Opéra in Paris. This is likely among the famous opera houses in the world because it was used as the setting for the novel and subsequent musical, “The Phantom of the Opera.”  It was specially developed and designed by architect Charles Garnier and completed in 1875,  The newer Place de la Bastille has become where the opera make use of for most of their performances.

Sydney Opera House


 One of the most prestigious and famous landmarks of Australia is the Sydney Opera house and it is regarded as an architectural masterpiece of the 20th century.  It was was designed and built by architect, Jørn Utzon, to reflect the image of a huge sailing ship. The Joan Sutherland Theatre, Drama Theatre, the multi-purpose Utzon Room and the Concert Hall are some of the famous places to be when you are here. The Concert hall houses the largest mechanical tracker-action organ in the world. Also part of the Sydney Opera House is the Forecourt, an open-air venue presenting many outdoor performances.
