Hey Guys,
travel forumJust wanted to share with you a trip I did yesterday in a Train from Curitiba to the port city of Paranagu?.
In my opinion it is one of the most impressive train rides of the world and leads through luscious tropical vegetation of the Atlantic Rain Forest providing numerous breathtaking bridges and turns.

The train provides a breathtaking journey of three hours,  it is so spectacular  to watch the train clings to the sides of the mountains as it descends. You will be traveling under 13 tunnels and over 67 bridges. The tracks cross the verdant Serra do Mar mountain ranges and traverse numerous canyons. Along the way you'll see clifs, streams, waterfalls, and vibrant vegetation. travel forum

You can either do this journy from Curitiba to Paranagu?, or from Curitiba to Morretes. (Morretes is about 10 miles before Paranagu?).
Note that the train to Paranagu? is available only weekends, while the train to Morretes is available on a daily basis. Anyway you can always take a 40 minutes bus ride from Morretes to Paranagu?.
The train ride to Morretes has the same scenery the only thing is that it is a bit shorter.

travel forumI suggest to wake up early in the morning, and board the Serra Verde Express for the leisurely 3-hour ride (they say 3 but it actually lasts 4 hours) descending the Serra do Mar mountains with a at Marumbi and many opportunities for spectacular photos.
A small breakfast is served with the "tourist" class tickets, which includes some salt bisquites,  a sweet cookie, and a free drink to your joice. (I recommend guarana this is really good it is like sprite but much better).

I also liked the idea that they give you 12 seeds of palmetto which you can throw a way in the train trip,
in this way you have also contributed to the nature by planting 12 new Trees !
In Morretes , you can wander the colonial towns? few streets which are nice, Morretes is so small you can do it all in 15 minutes.

The train ride is also a fun way to go from the capital to the Paran? coast, I also suggest you after getting to Paranagu? get the 2 hours boat to Ilha do Mel.
This island is very nice, has no cars, or motobikes, a very good spot to relax.

How much do you have to pay?
Tickets start at 32 reals (about $8).
Check the Train website.
