Travel To Casablanca, Morocco
Casablanca is the place to be. I had a clue of this place through history and stories told by friends. One of my December holidays I decided to arrange a trip to Casablanca. I told my wife about my plans. She was amazed and she couldn’t believe what I had told her. She asked for confirmation many times, but until I showed her the tickets is when she believed me. She became elated and could not wait the day of our trip. We planned for everything so as to have a nice stay in Casablanca. We booked a hotel online and also talked with tourism agency in the place. Since I had booked a flight to Casablanca this was to our convenience. We toured the place and it was fantastic and enjoyable. I can say it is the best trip I have ever had in my life since I started touring various tourist attraction sites in the world. I have a story to tell you and also friends. I hope the experience I am going to share with you will inspire you, and next time choose Casablanca as your place of visit.
We arrived at Casablanca very early in the morning after a flight in the night. We were exhausted at this time. We had a warm welcome at the airport. We were welcomed by a tourist agency. We paid some money to them and they offered us with an agent to take us through the whole tour. Since we were tired we had to go to a hotel to have a rest before we started our trip officially the next day. We were taken to Hyatt Regency hotel. The outer look of the hotel is just the best. This gave us a first good impression about it. We were sure our stay there was going to be fabulous. Surely it was, we were served with the best food. It has a variety of wines which we refreshed ourselves with it before the day of touring the place came. We had the best services in the hotel and also a wonderful night.
The day we had been waiting came, to explore the adventures of Casablanca. We had three attraction sites lined up for the day. Hassan II Mosque, New Medina of Casablanca and Museum of Moroccan Judaism. Our schedule started with Hassan II mosque. We left the hotel and got into a tourist car and we were drove to the mosque. As we were travelling we could catch a glance of Casablanca city. It has very beautiful buildings with a good portrait. We finally got there. The mosque is somehow new, but its size and interior design is impressive. It was interesting to see the third biggest mosque in the world. We came with a lot of information there. The decoration of the mosque is also beautiful. This beauty we saw in the mosque, and the massiveness of it, has actually given a name to Casablanca. The building of the mosque employed Moroccan traditional architecture and advanced technology. We could not have missed taking snaps of the beautiful mosque.
Our next attraction site in Casablanca was New Medina of Casablanca. We had heard from history about the New Medina, it is also called Al Habous or you can call it Habous Quarter. It was built in 1921 by the French ruling Morocco. We walk around this place, it is really a cool place to be. It is also a place where you can improve your history. At this place we could see the original Casablanca. It is surrounded by exotic souks overflowing with Moroccan handicrafts. This place is wow, and a never miss. We enjoyed walking around; I wish I had been living there so as to experience the beauty every day. People were very friendly, we also liked looking at some nice merchandise. We had to go for another lined up activity, but we had liked the beautiful setting and hospitable and smart people.
Museum of Moroccan Judaism was our last line up. It is surely a museum of history and ethnography. We were given a brief introduction of the museum by the people who were working there. We were told it was created by the Jewish community in 1997 with the support of the Foundation of Jewish-Moroccan Cultural Heritage. It is a very informative museum with foremost standards of for its national and international collection. We saw religious and artistic objects which demonstrate the history, religion, traditions and daily life of Jews in the setting of Moroccan civilization. The museum also exhibits painting, photography and sculpture. We got into other rooms which had a display Moroccan synagogue. We were also able to be shown a document library, a video one and a photo library. All were amazing and wonderful, we really liked them. It is unforgettable moments of Casablanca.
After a long day of interesting adventures we retired to Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche hotel. We found that it is the best hotel in Casablanca. The dinner we took was of high standards. We were given nicely designed rooms with comfortable beds. The night we spent there was calm and to be remembered. The next morning we took our breakfast which was a first class one after which we organised for other places of visit.
We started our day by visiting the Royal Palace of Casablanca. It is located in the cleanest part of the city. This palace is behind tall wall in La Nouvelle Medina. A place we were a day before, but I don’t know why the agent didn’t take us through it. This is a place which has high security, we could take photos of it, since it was forbidden. We took a glance at the gate, it was reasonably far place, but we were able to see it. There's not much to do here and we proceeded to another site of attraction.
If we had missed out on City Hall of Casablanca our trip would not have been much more enjoyable as we would have expected. It was an interesting place to square. People hang around it. We then had to visit the Square of Mohamed V, it was a nice place also. We were told the square is the grand centrepiece of the French regeneration scheme. The big square is surrounded by a telling array of august administrative buildings. It was beautiful to watch it. Our agent told us that most were designed by Henry Prost and Robert Marrast. We were at this place in the afternoon and after our adventure in this place, we drove around the city of Casablanca so as to have the final view of the city.
The trip came into an end and I and my wife went to the previous hotel we had been last night. We had a dinner which was actually delicious. We did have a special night with my spouse before we caught a flight at noon the next day back to our homes.
We finally landed in our hometown. The three day holiday in Casablanca was fantastic. I can describe it as the best I have ever had. I have been having many stories to narrate to my friends and family. They enjoy it very much. They too one day they will have a chance to travel to this adventurous city with a lot of history one could learn. When they see the photos we took at Casablanca, they admire them much. My brother recently told me that he is planning to visit Casablanca with his wife. This is a tremendous step for them, since what they will experience there is heavenly. My wife too has never forgotten our precious visit. She really liked it. She told me, the decision I made was the best for both of us, since we had wonderful moments with her to build our young marriage. My favorite city of attraction still remains to be Casablanca.
