Chola Pass Trek In Everest Region

Cho La pass trekking is one of the most preferred exclusive trekking routes in the Everest region among the trekkers. Cho La pass is a summit pass at an altitude of 5,420m (17,782ft) in the Solukhumbu district- northern east of Nepal. This route not only includes the view of Everest base camp, but also covers other famous regions like Lukla, Namche Bazar, Tengboche; almost whole Solukhumbu district. It is unparallel scenic, cultural and an adventurous experience. Adventurous and exciting, this route can be great experience to capture the beauties of Dudh Koshi River, Gokyo valley, the grand Ngozumpa glacier- the biggest glacier of Nepal, Cho La pass and the heart winning scene from Gokyo Ri and Kala Patthar. The route goes through many beautiful villages, monasteries, waterfalls and peculiar landscapes with the view of mountains on your side. To count more, you can visit Sagarmatha National Park enriched with beautiful animals like red panda, musk dear and many more. Reaching up to Everest Base Camp and little upper to Kalapatthar, you can have the finest view of mountain peaks glittering just little farther from you. The peaks include Mt. Everest (8848m) – worlds highest peak, Mt. Lhotse, Mt Makalu and Mt Cho Oyu. If the day is clear then you can also have the view of sun rising tearing the heights of these peaks. After enjoying the scenes, we will head to Gokyo Ri valley.

The route to Gokyo Ri valley goes through Cho La pass, which can be quiet difficult as well as thrilling. Conquering the height of 5,420m is a great step to enjoy the beauty of Gokyo Ri valley and the beautiful Gokyo lakes. Passing the Cho La pass and heading to Gokyo valley, you will see several lakes in front of your eyes. Gokyo lakes are sacred to both Hindus and Buddhist. Hence it carries both natural and cultural importance. Along with enjoying with the nature, you can also know about the culture, tradition, living styles and ethics of the people living in this region, mainly the Sherpas-widely known as the successful mountaineers.
