Extra Day In Spain - Where Should I Spend?
Firstly, thanks to the thorntree community for wealth of information on various posts. It really helped me finalize my itinerary in Spain. I'm visiting Spain for the first time with my GF in late November. I have an extra day and wanted to get ideas on where should I go.
My current itinerary has -
3 Days for Barcelona
2.5 Days for Madrid
1 Day for Seville
1 Day for Granada
Based on my research on thorntree and other places, the options I have for an extra day are Cordoba, Ronda, Cadiz (all 3 can be visited from Seville where I'm renting a car) or Toledo or Lisbon, Portugal. The reason I put Lisbon up there is I don't think I'll be visiting Spain / Portugal again for next few years and didn't want to lose an opportunity to sample another city in a new country. Also, there are cheap flights available to Lisbon from Madrid and it can be treated as a day trip, though a hectic one.
My typical interests and activities are history, architecture, photography, walking around and exploring different parts of city or town, talking an off-beat route. I know I'm cramping a lot in a short trip but am trying to maintain balance between giving enough time to Barcelona / Madrid and exploring the Andalusian beauty in the south.
Budget is not a constraint. Any thoughts on what should I do with an extra day?
Thanks in advance.
