Exploring The Wildlife Of Serengeti & Ngorongoro
My friend Danielle had promised to take me to a wonderful place during the holiday. She broke to me the good news in a week’s time prior to departure day. I was overwhelmed beyond anybody’s expectation. I thanked her so much for the great promised that she made it come true. She then requested me to choose any country of my choice. Tanzania was finally my proposed country. Basically, the country rests in a natural beauty with wonderful tourist attractions sites. Fundamentally, Tanzania is located to the south of eastern Africa and it stretches to the Indian Ocean. This country is magnificent due to what it posses in terms natural resources like wildlife. In essence, the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area are a must see tourist attractions in Tanzania that no one should afford not to explore and adventure. The park is full of wonderful wildlife like the leopards, lions, zebras, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, and various birds’ species among others.
We advanced from the capital city of Dar Es Salam. We then took safari’s vehicles straight away to the Serengeti national park. The park is well conserved and maintained with vegetation in almost every part of the park. We first stumble upon Serengeti water pool. The water was just calm and silent but crowded with dangerous hippos. From far away, they looked like herds of cattle grazing in the fields but as you approach the pool is when you will realize that they were huge hippos resting in the water. Just a few kilometers adjacent to the Serengeti pool is the Grumeti River. The river itself is normally not safe as it is fully infested with crocodiles and other water creatures. Most of us remained seated in the vehicle and looked at them through the windows while at the same time taking several photos of the scenes.
We then proceeded to Naabi hills. These are hills within the park and they act as an excellent viewing point. While it’s top, we saw comfortably herds of wildebeests moving from one place to another. The zebras were also not left out; they usually migrate in large groups. The Serengeti Park was actually one of the most spectacular parks I have ever encountered before.

Olduvai Gorge was another stunning and alluring site. It was really fascinating place to be. The gorge according to history was formed as a result of tectonic movements which led to its formation. It extends about 30 miles long and 1 km deep. It is one of the historical sites with remains of fossils and stone carvings dating in the primordial times. It is certainly an exuberant place that made our journey enthusiastic and superb. We actually promised to revisit this place in our next holiday to explore its brilliant and breathtaking attractions.
Our next adventure was visiting various sanctuaries or havens within the park. We first went to the refuge of lions. We met lions and lioness lying under the trees in a relaxed mood. They did not show any signs of resistivity but we just remained inside our cars for safety. It is at this point that we took many photos of them. We then dust our feet and moved to another place where we met uncountable zebras grazing happily in the fields. The zebras are not that dangerous like the lions. We moved out of the car and maneuver around the field while at the same time enjoying the attractive nature and pleasant atmosphere. We didn’t forget to take photographs of the zebras which were indeed awesome and could act as a memory reminder of the place. Actually, the park is full of wildlife that cannot be fully adventured and exploited within a day. We managed to see various bird species, antelopes and without forgetting the huge and scary elephants. These are the animals that made our trip to go great. Definitely, the park offers so much that you cannot imagine and therefore it is usually recommended for people to camp in the park for some time in order to fully exploit the nature and wildlife. Intrinsically, this park is the most mind-blowing and extremely marvelous. It was indeed a miraculous and remarkable journey having visited Serengeti national park.
Ngorongoro conservation area was our next place of adventure. This is another superb tourist attraction site with lots of incredible and startling wildlife. The conservation area covers an immense area of forests, savanna, highlands plains and without forgetting the savanna woodlands. There is a lot to explore and adventure at this place. The migration of zebras and wildebeests is one of the amazing experiences that we encountered. The park has a range of biodiversity including the white rhino that are in great danger of extinction.
The world’s biggest caldera was another stunning site that made our day great. It is a nice place to explore nature and since the mid of 19th century has attracted various researchers due to geological formations and remains. The caldera dates back in primordial times when it was formed due to volcanic activities. We managed to maneuver around it though very exhaustive due to hilly like landscape. It is has good scenery married with all sorts of eye-catching vegetations. We therefore took as many photos as possible in order to remind us of the mesmerizing place that we visited. It is certainly an excellent and delightful site that almost made us to prolong our trip in the site.
Ngorongoro conservation area is blessed with a lot of wildlife. The area is a habitat of thousands of animals of different species. It encompasses endangered species like the white rhino and the wild dogs. The conservation area is infested with dangerous animals like the lions and cheetahs that are the main predators in the park. We actually rode around the park looking at them from a distance while at the same time taking photos of them. It was indeed an interactive session to see unique and nice looking animals that are very rare to be found in any part of the world. We also had a nice chance to see different kinds of birds who flew in a certain pattern in a very distinct and exceptional manner. In essence, I liked the place and vowed not to miss in my next season of adventure.
Subsequently, Lake Ndutu and Nasera rock shelter are some of the archeological and historical sites that we came across. The sites are full of fossils and other remains that am pretty sure I haven’t encountered in any other tourist attraction site. The place has been a subject to a lot of research due to some remains of the early evolution of man like the Homo habilis. I was personally thrilled to be in search a historic site. On the other hand, remains of animals have been found in the same place thus it is considered by many as an evolution site.
Lastly, we then ceased our trip and we took off from the park. On our way, we met several grazing gazelles. They looked beautiful and very healthy. My friend thought they were goats as they resemble them in terms of size and appearances. When we approached them, they dispersed and run away. Our adventure in Serengeti and Ngorongoro was indeed one of its own kinds. It was a lovely and full of interactive sessions that made our adventure to look very short. We promised to revisit the two places in Tanzania again in our next holiday. I finally thanked my friend Danielle for such a wonderful idea.
