Turkey the holiday hot spot for 2009

The de-valuation of the ? against the Euro means it is no longer a cheap option to travel to many countries in the Euro zone.  Turkey currently going through succession into the EC retains the Turkish pound as its currency and still offers excellent value for money against many currencies in particular against the British ? were you can expect a typical exchange rate of 2.2 YTl - ?.

The country has developed well over the last 10 years to become a formidable challenge to the previous favorites in the Mediterranean. Beautiful hotels abound, pristine apartment and villas provide excellent accommodation options for the holidaymaker wishing to self cater.  Added to the beautiful lush green mountainous landscapes, Pine Forests, and Azure Blue seas this is truly is a picture card destination.  Good all year round weather and some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet - TURKEY has to be the chosesn desitination in 2009.

Spain, France and Greece have become more and more expensive with their old currency almost reaching parity with the Euro and unfortunately the ? has gone the same way.

Over the years I have travelled world-wide and in the last few years have holidayed on the Turquoise Coast of Turkey and find this destination to one of the most beautiful areas of Turkey. Hisaronu and Ovacik just in land from Olu Deniz plays home to a large ex pat British community and caters for the holidaymaker with an extensive selection of Bars, Shops and Restaurants serving every conceivable cuisine.  The cool mountain breeze  which flow through the valley in the height of the summer season bring welcome relief from the high temperatures experienced along the coast. :travel Forum:)
