 London is a city that does not need an introduction. This city is a truly unique city. Whatever you are looking for, you will find it in London. Mixed cultures, diverse architecture, best examples of art, music and fashion. Just imagine: London is a home for 12% of Great Britain’s population. Certainly there are a lot to explore here. It is hard to find a tourist who heaven’t heart about The Big Ben or Queen’s residence. Those ones are the most popular sightings .However the are more amazing places to visit in London:

Big Ben

This clock is probably one of the most famous clock in the world. For many years Big Ben leads London’s “must see” list. The clock is 150 years old and 55 meters high. Big Ben is the biggest four-sided clock construction in the world. Certainly the big role in Big Ben’s success play it’s location. Westminster abbey and River Thames are perfect neighbours to represent London with. Big Ben selfie had obviously became an essential city’s visitors.

If there are still some tourists who haven’t heard of Big Ben, there have certainly heard about Shakespeare. Globe Theatre is a modern oak-beamed reconstruction of the theatre where Shakespeare showed his first plays (original theatre was burned in 1613). The seasons starts in May and lasts till September however walking tours are always available here. 

 

British Museum

British Museum is taking a top position in the list of London most visited museums. Founded in 1753 it became open for public view in 1759. The collection was mostly  composed from the founds of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Sloane. Today British Museum display around 8 millions works daily. Here one can find early illustrations of  Jesus Christ and various historical relics from all over the world. British Museum is open for visitors every day.

The Trafalgar Square is located in centre of the city. It was built in memory of Trafalgar battle that took place in 1805. What makes the square a special one is a Nelson’s column dedicated to honour of this brave admiral. Besides that one can find a 44 metres tall statue of Georg IV and Victorian military heroes. Additionally there are temporary art installations from the world famous artist. Trafalgar Square  is not just a place of tourist attraction, it plays an important life in citizen’s life. Today it is a place of big celebrations and even for protests.

London Eye is a great opportunity to literally see all the city in less than one hour. Certainly it is one of the most popular tourist attraction. London Eye is a huge Ferris Wheel. It is also called the Millennium Wheel. The size of the “eye” is indeed impressive: 135 metres tall and 120 metres wide in diameter. It is currently Europe’s bigger Ferris Wheel and the highest public viewing point in London. Due to it’s huge popularity getting tickets can be  hard on weekends and busy days. Pre-booking is always a good idea in this case.
